Leslie, not only showed interest in my parents, but true compassion as well. She followed up with a phone call to inquire how they faired through a recent hurricane in Florida. That level of care is rare. Thank you Leslie for your kindness.

the visit was very thorough and everyone we met was professional and helpful. The visit was for my mother who is very picky and is not in the frame of mind to make a decision nor can she be pushed. We wanted her to see the place so she could consider it for the future. We did not make a follow up plan with Leslie - who was delightful - as that would have been pressure that my mother would not tolerate. This needs to be her decision to make when she wants. So Leslie will be contacted should my mother want more information or to proceed forward. Again your staff was wonderful on both visits first for myself and my sister and the second with my mother

Myself and 2 friends have just begun the process of evaluating places. Impressed by many of the features and apartment designs. Sampling the food in the dining room was great - so many choices.

Amber Lights showed very well and the team was very courteous and accommodating. The Chef came to speak with us during lunch and Leslie gave a great tour.

Our visit was wonderful. Leslie did an amazing job. She seemed to really understand what we were going through and she was able to answer all of our questions. The community looks great but it was a little too big for our needs and a little to far away from our home. I would definitely recommend the facility to those I know are searching. Thank you so much for your time. Leslie was super friendly and we enjoyed our time with her.

when I said agree rather than strongly agree it was because this questionnaire did not match the format of my visit. It was a luncheon and the only part that could have been improved was finding the location of the meeting.

Although I am partial to Amber Lights, for a number of different reasons I feel that another independent living community meets our 1st and trial step needs at this time.

May dad lived his last 3.5 years there (my mom about 6 months--non-preventable heart attack). He went from independent (originally entering with my mom with higher needs) to highly dependent over that span, including having in-home hospice services the last 9 months related to dementia and cancer. He was helped by many caring and effective staff employed by Amber Lights, also well cared for by doctors and other health providers (nurses, PT, OT) employed at other agencies that would come in and deliver services on site. The setting is relatively large--a smaller group home environment might be more comfortable to some, particularly if just one person already in a very high need state--but it worked out very well for my parents and their transitions. Very good food and activities, and they plan well for holidays and such (inclusive towards families and large groups coming in). I would drop in multiple times a week throughout these years. I had concerns here and there particularly as my dad reached very high need states and my mom had already passed, I found the staff responsive to my concerns. (note: in most large places you have different wings or buildings for different levels of care, and then you would have to move to unfamiliar apartments or buildings at each stage of need, and it is a challenge if a couple enter and they are in different places health-wise)
