A very vibrant community with a multi-generational and multi-cultural clientele. Apartments are spacious, clean and bright although views vary from very good to poor. There were no caregivers visible in the assisted living section. although I saw several moving residents from the busy activity area to wherever they were going next. The overall feel was that of a luxury apartment building or a 4 star hotel. The exercise/physical therapy area was clean, bright and well equipped. The wrap-around hallways could be confusing until you get used to them, but strategicaly placed elevators will take you back to 'civilization'. A complimentary meal from the dining room was delicious - chicken breast that was moist and tender (served with wild rice, sweet potato, mixed vegetables and a slice of heavenly spice cake) was a pleasant surprise. My tour guide, Haydee, was friendly, thorough and knowledgeable. She has followed up on my visit without being annoying.

Peninsula Del Ray was my place of choice after considering other assisted living options. Minoo Parsa, the Director of Sales, was my first contact with PDR. She took the time to explain what was needed to transition to PDR. I was under a lot of pressure and Minoo eased my mind by going out of her way to come to the hospital to help me with paperwork and monitored my move to the facility. I chose PDR because of Minoo’s kindness, caring and courteous manner. The layout of the facility promotes community living and is well designed for various levels of resident mobility. I had a one bedroom, full kitchen, washer/dryer, living/dining room and bathroom. It was perfect for my needs. I enjoyed my dining experience at PDR. The food was exceptional and healthy. It was always freshly prepared. The dining staff greeted me and made me feel special by remembering my name and providing any type of assistance I needed while there. I always felt welcome when I entered the dining room. My health aides were so kind and attentive. I really want to mention Nora, Jennifer and May. They made sure I had what I needed and never complained. They even checked on me periodically to see if I needed help with anything. The front desk reception staff was always very attentive and professional. The maintenance staff was always there in a timely manner to take care of any problem in my unit and took care to make sure the problem was fixed correctly. Having housekeeping clean my unit every week made my stay more comfortable. PDR also provides bus service to appointments and other functions. When Carlos wasn’t driving residents anywhere, he kindly brought packages to my and other resident’s units when Amazon, etc. delivered them to the front desk. I highly recommend Peninsula Del Rey whether temporary, as in my case, or as a permanent residence.

My mom, at the age of 99, chose to move to Peninsula del Rey after recovering from a brief illness. Sadly, she passed away just after her 100th birthday. However, her stay at PDR was one of the highlights of her life. She constantly raved about the staff – their professionality, warmth, and availability. The loved the food, actually complaining that it was too good! She took advantage of many of the numerous activities. She LOVED PDR. The staff: My mom bonded with so many staff members. Their warmth was a huge comfort to my mom. They cared deeply about her physical and emotional well-being. The apartment was exceptional. It was well-designed, with ample kitchen counter space, large bathroom, and cozy bedroom. It had lots of light, ample closet space, and a washer/dryer. The facility is kept immaculate – more like a nice hotel than anything else. The apartment cleaners are really very meticulous. Every time I visited my mom, I noticed that this was the cleanest I’ve ever seen any of her places. The shuttle van was always available for my mom’s medical appointments. PDR also offered outings to museums. In summary, I highly recommend PDR to someone who needs assisted living.

I have lived in Peninsula Del Rey for 2 years and have enjoyed living here. I live in an apartment with a kitchen, living room, bedroom and a little porch. A friend of mine (who lives in a house) came for a visit. "My goodness". she exclaimed, "your kitchen is larger than mine!". I also have a washer and dryer. I enjoy the activities here: especially the exercise classes and ping pong.

I have lived here at PDR for almost five years. I have made many really wonderful friends, both residents and staff. Our current Program Director and her team are outstanding at providing so many interesting things for the residents. I enjoy bingo, blackjack, and a card game many of us enjoy, called All’s Wild. There are Happy Hours every Friday afternoon where many residents enjoy gathering and socializing. The special events are always fun. Some of my favorite are forth of July, Halloween, and New Years Eve. This year we Celebrated Earth Day and all the residents and staff decorated rocks to lay at the base of a newly planted magnolia tree. There was a lovely ceremony at which our Daly City mayor and others spoke. Afterwards there was a celebration with drinks and wonderful food and entertainment. Our PDR Chef and her team prepared an outstanding dinner that evening. While on the subject of food I must comment on the quality of our food. It is both healthy and very tasty. We have a choice of four entrees for dinner, one of which is vegetarian. Our dining room manager and her team are friendly and call us all by our names. They work so hard to to take our orders and get our meals to us both timely and hot. The dining room is a friendly place where you feel welcome. My apartment is one bedroom with a fully equipped kitchen and both washer and dryer. We have access to rides to doctors appointments, quick shop, scenic drives, trail walks and special lunch outings. And of special importance to me, PDR is pet friendly. I probably could find more things to say but I shall stop with my final words - I am very happy here!

I can only speak for the independent living option here not other options such as assisted living. I've been here for close to seven years and am convinced the choice to move here is one of the better decisions I've made. The facility itself is fairly new with spacious apartments with all the appliances you'd want and need for laundry and kitchen. The staff are wonderful making you feel welcome and worthy of their time. In fact you begin to see other residents and even some staff as extended family. There are always activities to motivate and even challenge you (even during covid lockdown). The food has improved with the arrival of a new chef and residents now look forward to meals. The management and staff did one excellent job keeping us safe, secure and even active during covid lockdown. For independent living I can recommend Peninsula Del Rey without reservation.

I’ve been living here for seven years. The staff is very helpful and friendly.. They have helped make my golden years be golden. I enjoy the transportation to and from doctor visits, quick shops and a variety of outings. Daily exercises and a great selection of activities including bingo. I have made good friends not only with residents but also with staff. I might add they have an excellent chef. The food is yum !

Not only were the staff courteous greeting you with a smile, but most especially, they ( Christine and Alberto ) made me feel at ease, after all, it felt like a job interview. They , including Lucia during my first visit, were very welcoming and provided a thorough information of the facility and what it provides for a Senior such as I.

Very impressed. I think this would be a lovely fit for my mother, but the decision, of course, will be hers.

I was very impressed with the residence. I would grab it in a heartbeat if it weren't for the fact that I really want to stay in SF where my network and interests are. This will be a difficult decision.

Very favorably impressed with the facility, the presentation, and that it was possible to speak at length with several residents in addition to staff. Residents all were enthusiastic about Peninsula del Rey. Mariel Terrill combined an impressive ability to listen with a sypmathetic presentation of possibilities for handling the situation. Over all, my two visits were very positive experiences.
