I’m glad that I attended. I specifically wanted to view the facility and keep it in mind if I ever decide to relocate to a retirement community.

 On behalf of my immediate family and myself I want to express my gratitude for all the assistance, love and concern that my “La Vida Family” provided to me during the past two months. It has been exceedingly difficult for me to lose the love and companionship of my wife, life partner and best friend for over 68 years. Having the support of your entire staff has made the burden that much less to bear. The love and support of my La Vida Family includes all of the dining room staff, event personnel , and maintenance staff, but mostly the dedicated nurses, med -techs and caregivers as they were the ones that spent the most time with Bonnie and myself. The coordination of Bonnie’s care between Apreva Hospice and your nursing staff was remarkable, especially when I realized I was not the one to be in charge of her medications. Ali and Suzzane from Apreva put a program together where I no longer had any worries about her getting her medications in a timely manner. Since moving to La Vida Del Mar two years ago I have always been impressed with your caregivers, but over the past two months I have an even greater appreciation of what they do and the way they go about their daily routines. Because of Bonnie’s physical condition, Suzzane and I decided it was best to bring in a hospital bed for her comfort and inability to get to the bathroom without a lot of assistance. Unfortunately, because of her memory lapses she did not understand why she was in a bed 24/7. This caused her to become every agitated and as result she was constantly trying to get out of bed and calling for my help. The solution was medications ,which she detested, refusing to swallow them and spitting them back on the caregivers and telling them them to “Get the Hell out of here”. Fortunately her “Thank you’s “were more frequent than the “Get the Hell outs. This was very upsetting for me as I had never seen her react in this way. Never did I ever see any caregiver get upset over her reaction, always handling it in a calm and compassionate manner. I am convinced that caregivers are very special individuals and a true gift from God. As many of you know, I have a deep Faith, but I must admit I was tested many times in the past two months. It seemed at those times the medical staff was aware of that and I was able to get back on track. Scottie, I am requesting that you forward this letter to the Corporate office, as i want them to know about my personal experiences with everyone at La Vida Del Mar. I personally feel that you and your staff need to hear more praises and less criticism from many of the residents. . God Bless everyone here at La Vida. God willing, I look forward to many more years of being here with my La Vida Family as I live out my Golden Years with my fellow residents.

Tour was great by Adrienne. My parents loved the place. Met a bunch of residents that seemed very happy living there. Food was really good with a very diverse menu. Place seemed upbeat compared to others we toured. My parents loved put a deposit down!!

Good, comprehensive information and facility tour from Adrienne who was very pleasant and answered all our questions. The general atmosphere of La Vida Del Mar seemed extremely friendly and welcoming, with plenty of activities and continuing care for residents.
