SRg Residents Walk to Better Health
02-15-2019

In honor of Heart Health Month, SRG senior living communities are highlighting the important role exercise plays in preventing heart disease. At Maravilla in Santa Barbara, Calif., a new Walking Club offers something for everyone, regardless of fitness level. The Zest department, charged with addressing residents’ mind, body and soul, has developed a walking map of the active retirement community. Residents can join the “The School of Walk” group for a half mile loop on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays or meet up with “The Sole Train” for a quarter-mile walk three times a week. Walking has been shown to offer numerous benefits such as increased pulmonary health and reduced risk for heart disease and strokes.
