Breast cancer is one of the most common kinds of cancers in women, with 1 out of 8 women diagnosed in the United States. October is National Breast Cancer Awareness Month and residents across SRG senior living communities are doing their part to help increase awareness and raise funds for research. Today, residents at La Siena in Phoenix are “going pink”. They are encouraged to wear pink to honor breast cancer survivors and attend a Pink Happy Hour where they’ll learn more about efforts to eradicate the disease. Residents at The Village at NorthRidge in California are also spreading awareness. A “Bingo for Breast Cancer” event is planned for later this month with all proceeds benefitting the National Breast Cancer Foundation.
