Keeping up with current events and engaging in thought-provoking discussions is vital to a healthy, active mind. Maravilla in Santa Barbara, Calif., has partnered with students from University of California, Santa Barbara for an intergenerational program, “The Circle”. Each week, students and residents will gather at Maravilla to discuss topics such as love, war, aging, friendship and being of service to others. During the six week program, students will get to know the active retirement community’s residents and learn their perspectives on varying subject matter. Research continues to tout the importance of intergenerational activities as both groups reap tremendous benefits.
