The two-day festival of Rosh Hashanah kicks off the Jewish New Year. Sweet foods and the sound of the shofar (ram’s horn) represent expectations of success and peace. Rosh Hashanah also introduces 10 days of repentance culminating with a fast on Yom Kippur. Many of our communities are offering onsite Rosh Hashanah services including The Village at NorthRidge in California while others will provide transportation for residents to attend the local temple’s services.
