The two-day festival of Rosh Hashanah kicks off the Jewish New Year. Sweet foods and the sound of the shofar (ram’s horn) represent expectations of success and peace. Rosh Hashanah also introduces 10 days of repentance culminating with a fast on Yom Kippur. Senior Resource Group communities are observing the High Holy Days with special services and dinner.
