National Purple Heart Day is observed annually on August 7th. It is dedicated to honoring service members who have made the ultimate sacrifice or suffered a life-altering injury due to combat. Silver Springs in Green Valley, Arizona, will host a poignant ceremony to mark the occasion. Purple Heart recipients will be recognized and have an opportunity to share their stories of bravery and service. The event is just one of the many ways the active retirement community honors resident-veterans throughout the year.
