As the nation prepares to give thanks on Thanksgiving Day, residents at The Village at NorthRidge, our active retirement community in California, are expressing their gratitude for the brave men and women who serve in our armed forces. Through a partnership with Operation Gratitude, residents are writing letters of encouragement to veterans, first responders, new recruits, wounded heroes and U.S. service members deployed overseas. The partnership is especially meaningful to resident-veterans who know firsthand the toll of war and being away from loved ones. The letters will be included in Operation Gratitude’s care packages. Each year, the organization mails 200,000+ packages to troops.
