It was all hands on deck during a community project at The Chateau on Capitol Avenue. A dedicated group of crafters came together to color, cut and design a puzzle quilt to raise funds for autism awareness.
This year marked the third year that the Sacramento senior living community has gotten involved in the project.
The framed quit quilt was donated to the United Cerebral Palsy Association which collaborates with autism awareness organizations. During the annual fundraiser, the auction lot with the quilt raised $325!
The Chateau on Capitol Avenue selected to partner with the United Cerebral Palsy Association because of its Sacramento roots and residents wanted to stay connected and support their local public community.
Research shows that benevolence activities create a state of “flow,” which is when a person performing an activity is fully immersed in a feeling of energized focus, full involvement and enjoyment in the process of the activity. During flow, people typically experience deep enjoyment, creativity, and a total involvement with life.
