On December 7, 1941, the United States naval base at Pearl Harbor was attacked. Often regarded as “a day that will live in infamy”, it’s a time to remember those who lost their lives in the attack and during World War II. On this day, SRG communities across the country would like to pay tribute to the millions of Americans who answered our nation’s call to the battlefield. At MaravillaScottsdale, the community is honoring resident-veterans with a Pearl Harbor Remembrance Toast led by Don Shannon, Junior Commander with American Legion Post 44. Additionally, two veterans, Colonel Tom Schaefer and Ralph Bingenheimer, will be presented with a “Quilt of Valor”. The quilts were created by the Arizona chapter of Quilts of Valor Foundation whose mission is to cover service members and veterans touched by war with comforting and healing quilts.
