Residents at Maravilla, our active retirement community in Santa Barbara, Calif., are taking advantage of the great outdoors and participating in a unique activity. They’re heading to Elings Park, a 230-acre non-profit park, for “forest bathing”. Known in Japan as shinrin-yoku, which means “bathing in the forest atmosphere”, forest bathing has been shown to restore one’s mood and energy. From whale-watching to kayaking and beach walking, Maravilla residents are truly embracing Mother Nature!
