Move over Stephen King! Al Harris, a resident at Maravilla, an active retirement community in Santa Barbara, Calif., has written his latest book, “Lucifer in Celestial Gardens”. The suspense novel is inspired by a scandal involving a number of funeral homes in the Midwest, “where unfortunate things had been done to the deceased”.
Mr. Harris will launch “Lucifer in Celestial Gardens” during an author meet and greet at Maravilla on Monday, November 27th at 3 p.m. in Maravilla’s Clubhouse. The general public is invited to attend the event, which includes a book signing. Reservations are required by calling 805.308.9585 or sending email to RSVP@MaravillaSeniorLiving.com.
The novel is the third that Mr. Harris, 94, has written while living at Maravilla. The community’s maintenance-free lifestyle affords him the opportunity to devote time to his craft. He also facilitates a Creative Writing group to inspire his neighbors to tap into their talents.
