The Heritage Tradition's "Stitch & Chat" Group Donates Crafts
01-23-2018

Residents at The Heritage Tradition in Sun City West, Ariz., gather weekly in the active retirement community’s The Atrium a “Stitch & Chat” group. The ladies work on crochet and knitting projects for themselves as well as community service initiatives. Previously, they have donated hats and scarves to children in colder areas of the states, stuffed animals for children’s’ organizations and lap blankets for veterans. Research shows there are many benefits of knitting. The rhythmic motions and sense of focus can help alleviate symptoms of anxiety, depression and stress.
