Grandparents across the country are being celebrated this Sunday—September 13th. Each year, the first Sunday after Labor Day marks the annual celebration of “National Grandparents Day”. Founded in 1978, the day honors the role grandparents play in their families and society and was signed into law by President Jimmy Carter. Grandparents play a critical role not only in their families but in society as well. Several of our communities, including The Carlisle Naples in Southwest Florida, are paying homage to grandma and grandpa with a special Grandparents Day Brunch. Residents’ families are invited to spend the day at our communities. We wish grandparents everywhere a special day surrounded by family and filled with love.
