Community Celebrations
06-18-2020

Graduations are normally a rite of passage celebrated with pomp and circumstance and many good wishes for this next stage of life. This year that all changed as graduation ceremonies across the country were cancelled due to COVID restrictions. But, that wasn’t going to stop our residents and fellow employees from recognizing the wonderful achievements their class of 2020 team members. Below are just a few of the stories from our communities.

At Cypress at Golden Gate in San Francisco, California, the team held a memorable, socially distanced commencement ceremony in front of the community's historic building. A speech praising the graduates was given by the community's Executive Director Katherine T. followed by a parade throughout the hallways of the community so that residents could cheer for and congratulate the graduates. Filled with joy, many residents stopped the grads to take pictures and express their pride in their accomplishments.

The team at The Carlisle Naples, Naples, Florida, showered their graduates with love. Class of 2020 team members, many of whom are longtime employees, were treated to a delicious, chef-prepared luncheon, bouquets of flowers, candy baskets and a fun photobooth. The community ensured the graduates felt special by gifting personalized photo frames and a scrapbook filled with heartfelt messages and advice for the future from The Carlisle family.

It was a walk to remember at Maravilla Scottsdale in Scottsdale, Arizona, as graduates were celebrated with a special walk in cap and gown in the community's beautiful, outdoor courtyard along with a program of inspiring speeches. The class of 2020 team members felt even more loved with special "Words of Wisdom" booklets gifted to them containing advice for the future, all from Maravilla residents. Take a look at these memorable tidbits of wisdom!

Ever heard of the saying "maybe the little things are actually the big things"? At Villa Hermosa in Tucson, Arizona, the details made all the difference as graduates were treated to colorful and fun celebration. Bright balloons and decorations adorned the community, making for a colorful commencement ceremony, and residents hand crafted congratulatory signs for their graduates. Most fun of all was a parade around the community as residents cheered and clapped from their balconies.

Graduates at La Vida at Mission Viejo in California were celebrated loud and proud with personalized banners hung from the community's balconies for all to see. The young team members enjoyed the pomp and circumstance of a commencement ceremony with a cap and gown walk and speeches along with congratulatory certificates. The class of 2020 also shared words of gratitude for the community's team and residents, many of whom have become synonymous for family.

And although socially distanced, love and pride was felt all around Senior Resource Group communities. Congratulations to all of our graduates – we are so glad we were able to give you a celebration worthy of this important milestone in your life!
