Fiesta! In honor of Old Spanish Days, Los Niños de las Flores visited residents at Maravilla to share fiesta greetings and spread love.
Old Spanish Days is an annual, historic event in Santa Barbara, Calif., celebrating the Rancho period of history. Marketplaces, parades, cultural performances and rodeos are part of the traditions.
The members of Los Niños de las Flores, who range in age from 6-12 years old, handed out flowers and filled the active retirement community with shouts of “Viva La Fiesta,” much to residents’ delight.
Maravilla residents also take part in numerous events held in Santa Barbara, thanks to the curbside transportation service. On August 2nd, for example, they attended the “El Desfile Historico” parade, one of the largest equestrian parades in America.
