The Carlisle Naples recently donated a technology package to students at Sabal Palm Elementary School, helping ensure a successful 2019-2020 school year.
Executive Director Bill Diamond and Zest Director delivered 3 Apple iPads and accompanying cases as well as 800+ AirPods to help improve students’ access to technology and support web-based learning.
The active retirement community in Southwest Florida has an ongoing partnership with the school, hosting fundraisers including the annual Benefit Luncheon and Fashion Show. Instead of an end-of-year trip for high achieving students, which the community typically sponsors, the school requested the funds be used for the school-wide project.
“Research continues to tout the health benefits of intergenerational activities for both generations,” said Executive Director Bill Diamond. “Our residents are thrilled to be able to support these young minds both in and out of the classroom setting.”
The school’s first-graders visit The Carlisle several times a year including Halloween and Christmas. Residents look forward to the visits and often volunteer to decorate, serve lunch and prepare goodie bags. During the visits, students and seniors work on arts and craft project and participate in other interactive activities such as magic shows.
The Carlisle offers both Independent and Assisted Living lifestyles. Available on a monthly fee basis, the ECC-licensed and CARF-accredited community boasts a full range of services and amenities including 12-hour restaurant dining, housekeeping, transportation and activities.
