Maravilla at The Domain Hires Executive Chef Seth Tucker

AUSTIN, TEXAS—August 29, 2019. Senior Resource Group (SRG), an innovator in the retirement industry and developer of the upscale Maravilla at The Domain in Austin, today announced it has hired Executive Chef Seth Tucker to oversee its kitchen operations, bringing original, seasonal dishes and a five-star dining experience to residents every day of the week.


“Seth spent the last four years at River Place Country Club, where he honed his already-exceptional culinary skills and developed a large repertoire of imaginative, palate-pleasing, healthy dishes,” said Senior Resource Group Vice President of Operations Ron Mead. “His energy and his passion for his work are inspiring, and our residents will love him. He is just the person we have been seeking to ensure they will anticipate and relish every meal at Maravilla.”


Prior to joining Maravilla as Executive Chef, Chef Tucker also worked at Lost Creek Country Club and Twin Creeks Country Club. Using imaginative texture and taste combinations, his presentations are visually enticing, aromatic and infinitely palate-pleasing. His menus include a wide variety of regional tastes and influences, each incorporating top-quality, seasonal, local produce.

Maravilla’s ever-evolving menu will offer signature entrees and daily chef-inspired specials that ensure the taste buds will never be bored. Specials may include such tantalizing choices as Fresh Salmon Filet, lightly seasoned, grilled to order and finished with a drizzle of pesto glaze, or Herb-Crusted Spring Lamb Chops, roasted to perfection and served with onion-mint marmalade. In addition to five nightly chef specials, Maravilla at The Domain will offer selections ranging from comfort foods, like Beef Bourguignonne and Gourmet Macaroni and Cheese, to heart-healthy options, such as organic spinach salad and a cornucopia salad made with mixed greens, avocado and grilled chicken.


There will even be a plant-based menu, Fresh Zest™ – an entirely new addition to SRG communities’ dining selections that is geared toward specialty diets with a twist. Taste will never be compromised with the FreshZest™ menu, which will feature meatless dishes such as Crispy Bean Chimichangas with tomatillo sauce and cremini mushrooms, Eggplant Lasagna and Meatless Burgers – all bold, palate-pleasing flavors. A plant-based diet can be nutritious and appetizing, and it can also play a significant role in slowing cognitive decline, reducing the risk of heart disease and cancer, and helping manage diabetes and other chronic ailments older adults often experience.


Maravilla’s culinary team will work closely with vendors to purchase produce, seafood and meats directly from local farms as often as possible. Virtually all items will be prepared from scratch. Meats will be chilled, not frozen, and soups will be made on-site. There will be an emphasis not just on flavor, but also on texture, aroma, and color, using fresh herbs and salt-free herb seasonings to intensify flavors. In addition to crafting innovative, memorable dishes and menus and directing every aspect of Maravilla’s food service operations, Chef Tucker and his team will consult with physicians and health care personnel/dietary specialists to determine the nutritional needs and dietary restrictions of residents, as needed, and formulate menu options based on these individual requests.


The grand opening of Maravilla at The Domain is anticipated for this Fall of 2019.
