As a resident at The Kensington, you will find all kinds of opportunities for social connections, health and wellness activities, and the comforts and conveniences to help simplify life. Here are the included services for independent living:

  • Exceptional restaurant-style dining options for breakfast, lunch and dinner including outdoor patio seating
  • Weekly housekeeping and flat linen laundry services
  • Full calendar of social, cultural, educational, and recreational activities and programs
  • Health and fitness classes
  • 24-hour emergency call system and onsite staff
  • Scheduled group transportation services to doctors’ appointments, shopping, events and entertainment
  • Utilities (except phone) including access to Wi-Fi, heating and air conditioning
  • Interior and exterior care and maintenance of all residences, common areas and grounds

 

Assisted Living at The Kensington

The Kensington’s assisted living services take a “whole-person” approach to wellness, and are tailored to meet your needs, now and in the future. Services can be dialed up, or back, at any time, so you can get the support you need. Residents choosing assisted living services enjoy the service amenities and common areas as listed above, as well as highly-personalized care services as needed to provide assistance for independence and wellness. Hi. I have been at The Kensington for 16 months and couldn’t be happier. Daily life for me consists of several choices, either exercise, crossword puzzles, charades, bridge and many other. They are challenges at times but are keeping my body and mind alert. Women here at The Kensington are excellent examples to have. To name a few; Kayla, Angela, Kim and Micki. So many residents have become good friends. I am content, healthy and cared for. Kensington in Walnut Creek is the perfect place for me. I couldn’t be happier. JBW

Mitchell was very understanding and kind and was very wonderful to us. The facility is beautiful, I wish my family was able to afford the rates, but I am afraid they can't. But I want you to know that you have a very BEAUTIFUL facility. You all do a great job there for seniors.

Really liked the liveliness of the community. ALL employees were super friendly. Liked the numerous activities. We had lunch there but it took a very long time. They served one of our meals way before the other. The waitress was very friendly though and tried to keep us informed. Also, my mother felt the bigger 1 bedroom was a little too small for her.

Wish you had a few larger rooms. I like the facility, but am having a difficult time with the size of your tiny living/dining area. There really isn’t room for a small table for eating and a sofa with 2 small chairs, which is what I need.

Michelle S. who helped us was very outstanding. She was so knowledgeable, courteous, efficient, patient, kind, and respectful. I am so glad she helped us. We also stayed for lunch and the food was delicious. We were really impressed with the facility, the apartments, and the grounds.

Dianne was super-duper-fantastic! She was like a chameleon adapting herself to each member of my family leaving us all feeling like we were her #1 fan! Chef Priscilla should open her own restaurant - her food was THAT good! -and we are kind of food snobs! We want to hire her as our personal chef! Don’t lose either of these ladies! Concerns: overall, the distance is probably too far for our family. Just for constructive feedback: The hallways are darkly lit and confusing. The landscaping and waterless fountain need some love. The majority of residents we saw looked sad and disengaged by the bistro area. The remodel is gorgeous. We just wish we could bring Dianne and Priscilla closer to us!

My father is a resident with some special needs at times. Whenever the need arises .Jemalia and the rest of the care team are thorough and comprehensive in taking care of whatever the situation calls for. Debbie and Penney have been extremely helpful in helping with our questions and needs for room selection and billing insurance. I cannot praise the staff enough for the help they've provided our family.

My sister selected another facility that had an apartment directly adjacent to the elevator (the location of the apartment was the determining factor, due to her spinal injury). We will be keeping the Kensington in mind should the other facility not work out. We were impressed and treated very well.
