The Carlisle Residents Take Elementary Students on Wild Outing

For students at Sabal Palm Elementary, a good report card means there will be a wild end-of-year trip to Caribbean Gardens at Naples Zoo.

Each year, the school’s top achievers are rewarded for their hard work by The Carlisle Naples in Florida.

Nearly 100 students participated in the 2012 zoo trip, enjoying a boat ride through Primate Island, watching the alligator feeding and viewing exhibits on the main trail with Carlisle residents.

“Our residents really look forward to this event,” said Amanda Stith, program director for the luxury independent and assisted living community. “It’s a great intergenerational activity and they truly have a blast with the students.”

The Carlisle has an ongoing partnership with Sabal Palm Elementary. Students visit the community throughout the school year for holiday-themed performances and residents host an Easter Egg Hunt and Halloween haunted house for the youngsters each year. The Carlisle’s annual Fashion Show also raises funds for the zoo outing.

The day at the zoo culminated with a pizza party, with food and beverages generously donated by Papa John’s and Coca Cola.
