The Village at NorthRidge Earns Top Honors from NAHB
NORTHRIDGE, Calif.—Senior Resource Group (SRG), a leader in providing distinctive retirement living since 1988, earned top honors in the 2012 Best of 50+ Housing Awards program for its premier senior housing community, The Village at NorthRidge.
Presented by the National Association of Home Builders, the awards honor excellence and innovation in the design, development and marketing of senior living environments, and showcase the latest trends in housing for the mature market.
The Village at NorthRidge competed against entries from across the U.S. and won “Gold” awards in the “Best CCRC or Independent/Assisted Living” and “Best Indoor Common-Use Space” categories.

In the “Best CCRC or Independent/Assisted Living” category, judges considered the community’s common areas, interior and exterior design, living environments and the overall appeal of the campus. They praised The Village at NorthRidge’s “great design” and called the community “fresh and invigorating while capturing sophistication”.
The “Best Indoor Common-Use Space” required judges to analyze the entrant’s special harmony, ambience, creativity and unique design of the space. The Village at NorthRidge was recognized for its “new age solution that was fresh and connected to a big future”. The community’s integration of an outside courtyard also was acknowledged.
“This year’s winners often had to do more with less,” said NAHB Chairman Bob Nielsen, a multifamily and 50+ builder from Reno, Nev. “While developers and builders may have had to scale back the size of some communities, for these winners the focus was always on quality communities that offer 50+ residents a great lifestyle.”
Centrally located in the San Fernando Valley, The Village at NorthRidge is comprised of 275 luxury alcove, one- and two-bedroom independent and assisted living residences. Residents have access to a host of amenities including a library, art gallery, club lounge, movie theatre, bistro bar, full-service spa and 12-hour dining in the Prairie Grille restaurant.
The Village at NorthRidge assisted living component is CARF-accredited, the highest level of accreditation that can be awarded to an assisted living community, and offers a comprehensive menu of personal assistance and care services.
