Sierra Point Employee's Heroic Efforts Save Teen
02-2-2018

Now everyone in the Sacramento area knows what residents at Sierra Pointe, a senior living community in Roseville, Calif., already know: Tom Lowers in an everyday hero!

Lowers, the Maintenance Director, was recognized for his heroic efforts when he rescued a teen driver, trapped in a vehicle that was engulfed in flames.

The local CBS affiliate recently aired the story of the rescue in which Lowers and two other heroes helped the 18 year old.

“Anybody in that situation, anywhere, would have done the same thing,” Lowers said during his on-camera interview. “When I went up to the car, I went to the driver’s side and the heat was so intense that I couldn’t even get to the door itself.”

He, along with the others, was able to break a window and save the teen who is recovering from her injuries.

Resident Rose Maki, also interviewed for the segment, wasn’t surprised to hear of Lowers’ good deed.

“That was really nice,” said resident Rose Maki. “I think it was terrific! We have great people here!”
