JOB OBJECTIVE:
The LVN provides residents with nursing services in accordance with physician’s orders and needs for quality care and life within the residence. The LVN is responsible for the administration of medications and treatments.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assists in maintaining a physical, social, and psychological environment, which will be conducive to the best interests and welfare of the residents. Ensures the confidentiality of all resident information is maintained and the residents’ privacy respected.
- Supervises and directs resident assistants.
- Works closely with all departments and staff, sensitizing them to residents’ health matters in general and specific health concerns to individual residents.
- Assists staff in coordination overall adherence to the building’s Infection
Control Policy.
ESSENTIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- LVN current license
- At least 1 year minimum experience as LVN
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to write service plans with appropriate goals, problems, and revisions based on resident needs.
- Ability to perform resident assessments.
- Must be able to exercise independent judgment and discretion in the performance of supervisory/personnel tasks with the understanding that the responsibilities are not routine or limited to resident care matters.
- Experience with ordering and administering medication and treatments as prescribed by physician. Must also document and review medication and treatment sheets for completeness, accuracy in the transcription of physician’s orders, and in compliance with professional standards, federal and state regulations, and residence procedures.
